so true.... I only listen to a few. If you really listen closely...they're all different. I often feel that way about country though... not really a fan... favorite country song though: you and me goin fishin in the dark.

If you pay attention to the words, and what the song is about, and see how well it relates to the heavy music that they are playing during it, the songs are great, you just have to relate everything, then they won't sound the same. As for the screaming, it is more of a thing to get everyone hyped up and ready for the heavy music.

Anybody ever heard of Streetling Manifesto? they are the only ska band I can listen to regularly. They are so angry and good at what they do. check this out:

Iv heard of streetlight manifesto but I cant get past the fact that they sound like Sum41 on lots of caffine. I guess im just past that whole garage band that never grew up theme.

stealing manifesto... never heard. Sum was my favorite band for a long time. their lead guitar player started a new metal band called Brown Brigade. Everything I've heard rules. you tube it. (maybe some is on there)

Stealing = streetlight, i cant type obviously.

They're far better than Sum. their bass player is amazing. plus - it's just a different style alltogether.

Streetlight Manifesto used to be a ska band with a different name Catch 22. Or at least the lead singer was the guy from Catch 22. Not bad, happy fun jumpy music.

Opeth has massive chops. Despite enjoying metal - metallica has always pissed me off. don't kill me!
Cant forget Maiden!

As for catch 22- I didn't know that. I think all ska is fun happy jump music. I saw Less than Jake last year - crazy fun show.

I still like nightwish, although the lead singer isnt as good as tarja is. But the quality of music is still there.
As for Kiuas, I just might have to check them out now. Listened to a couple of tracks from their website. Interesting. Ive been hooked on finnish bands lately. Nightwish, Him, now maybe Kiuas. In fact, Just european rock in general. Lacuna Coil is Italian.
HMMMM I guess my own country just doesnt do it for me no more.

Going old school Metal, but you have Anthrax, Slayer, and Metallica.
How about Danzig, Faith No More, and Megadeath.

I actually prefer 80's Hair Metal and 90's Grunge. For those who like SoundGarden and Pearl Jam, check out Temple of the Dog.

Also, Does anyone know if there is a website like IMDB but for music? If not, think I will make one.
